  6.    Ok, this is a quick-and-dirty list of the things that have changed
  7. since the last release of the VT (1.2b).
  8.  
  9. *   GUS (Gravis UltraSound) support. In fact, the only card supported in this
  10. version. See also the new VT-GUS section of the configuration file VT.CFG
  11.  
  12. *   New video mode: now the screen turns into a 90x63 text mode that gives a
  13. much bigger playfield to fill up with uninteresting things. :) Use Ctrl+Arrow Key
  14. (left or right) to adjust the horizontal screen position if the default doesn't
  15. fit well with your monitor.
  16.  
  17. *   Vastly improved S3M support. Now it sounds almost as good as STMIK; in fact,
  18. it will play PANIC.S3M and WATER.S3M (inside FISHTRO.EXE) much better than the ripped STMIK 0.9. :-) Some details
  19. still missing, tough.
  20.  
  21. *   The decorating menu has finally disappeared. Maybe some day it will see the
  22. light again.
  23.  
  24. *   There's a mouse you can play with. It doesn't do anything, but you may move
  25. it with the rythm of the music and have some fun. It's basically a functional
  26. substitute of the previously mentioned menu, as are some sliders drawn next
  27. to the VU-meters. :-)

  29. *   Naming convention. You may have noticed it already...

  31.    This beta version also has some features disabled, after breaking them by
  32. introducing the new ones:

  34. *   Oscilloscope: it won't work with GUS.
  35.  
  36. *   Loudness filter doesn't work with GUS either.
  37.  
  38. *   Feel free to add things to this list as you see them. But please tell me
  39. about it, else I will keep thinking that it works.

  41.    To everybody who expected more improvements after all this time: this is
  42. what happens when you lose your time doing other stupid things like demos
  43. and job and university and all that stuff. Special message to PAS owners:
  44. give me a good reference about the card, not all that unusable stuff from
  45. MediaVision that forms the PASDK, and PAS support will no doubt be added.

  47.    Special thanks to some people that have contributed to this version and
  48. are not mentioned in the DOC: Oscar G. for lending a still unused PAS16;
  49. Marcos Sagrado, Javier Olmo and Paco Carrascosa (who else?) for GUS
  50. betatesting and general ideas.
